The Youth Orchestra, CYCNY had just successfully accomplished its 8th Asia Concert Tour to Japan and Taiwan from June 28th to July 9th.
The Youth Orchestra, CYCNY, a Queens-based youth orchestra
since 1996 is pleased to announce the 2015-16
audition for new members, age 10-18, who has been
learning an orchestral
instrument with a private teacher for
about 2-3 years, and are
interested in our bilingual repertoryof Western and Eastern music.
The audition date is
on Saturday, September 19, from 12 noon-3:30 pm at
Middle School 158 (46-35 Oceania Street, Bayside, NY 11361).

The audition instruments will be: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet,
horn, trombone, tuba, violin, viola, cello, bass, harp and percussion. Scholarship will be available for viola,
bass, horn and bassoon. The audition requirements are:
The uniqueness of this youth orchestra is its repertory of Classical, Popular, Jazz, Film, Broadway and Asian music.
The orchestra meets for rehearsal on each Saturday from 1- 4 PM at Middle School 158 in Bayside, Queens from late September to early June.
In 2015-16 Season, the orchestra will present all members and faculty to perform in two full-length formal concerts.
A traditional Holiday Concert in Queens
since 1998 will be on December 20th at Cardozo High School in
Bayside, free admission to the general public.
Two Charity Concerts to perform at Silvercrest Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation on
December 13, 2015, and on June 5, 2016, as well as Concerts at Senior Center
and Taiwan Center in Flushing.
The Annual Spring Concert
at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center is set on May
21, 2016 with renowned violinist Min-Yen Chien as
soloist.
The outstanding
faculty members are graduates from the top US conservatories and universities,
they are: Chijen Christopher Chung/conductor &
string, Chi-Ching Grace Lin/percussion, Lovell
Chang/wind & brass, Chiwei Chang/piano, and
Michelle Hwang/librarian.
