The Youth Orchestra, CYCNY, a Queens-based youth orchestra since 1996 is pleased to announce the 2017-18 Season audition for new members, age 10-18. The student who has been learning orchestral instrument with private teacher for about 2-3 years, and is interested in the multicultural and orchestral experiences that we provide.
The audition date is on Saturday, September 16, from 12 noon-4pm at Middle School 158 (46-35 Oceania Street, Bayside, NY 11361).

The audition instruments will be: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba, violin, viola, cello, bass, harp and percussion. The audition requirements are:
The uniqueness of this youth orchestra is the various repertories of Classical, Popular, Jazz, Film, Broadway, American, Latin, Asian and new music.
The orchestra meets for rehearsal on each Saturday from 1- 4 PM at Middle School 158 in Bayside, Queens from late September to early June.
In 2017-18 Season, the orchestra presents all members and faculty to perform two-three full-length formal concerts, and some charity and community concerts.
A Holiday Concert on December 17, 2017 at Cardozo High School in Bayside, Queens, which is free admission and open to the public, the concert has been a tradition in Queens since 1998.
A charity concerts to perform at Silvercrest Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Briarwood, and a community Concert at Taiwan Center in Flushing in May or June.
The Annual Spring Concert at Alice Tully Hall of Lincoln Center will be on Saturday, June 9, 2017.
The outstanding faculty members are graduates from the top US conservatories and universities, they are: Chijen Christopher Chung/conductor & strings, Chi-Ching Grace Lin/percussion, Lovell Chang/Winds & Brass, Chiwei Chang, piano, Tony Hunag/strings.
Youth Orchestra, CYCNY is a 501 (c) (3) organization founded in 1996 and registered with New York State as a non-profit organization in 1997.
